One of the early settlers of Concord Township who in 1816, 1817 and 1818 represented Butler Co. in the Legislature (H of R)31 [William+Harding.FBK.FTW]50 Rachel was Andrew Christies 2nd wife, they had 8 children. Andrew was a substantial citizen in his day. He built the second grist mill in Butler Co., he was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church. During the Was of 1812 he served as a sargent in Captain Storey's Company of volunteers. He was absent from home on military service when William Hughes was born in 1812.
