Revolutionary War patriot. Per "New York in the Revoluntion" by Roberts, "The Levies, Acting Brig. Gen Willett," among enlisted men: "John Yucker, P. 92." Willett's regiment had a reputation asrough, tough fighters. Johannes' place of residence during the Revolution was Town of Palatine.
Johannes fought at the Battle of Sharon Springs, 10 July 1781; theBattle of Johnstown, 25 Oct 1781; andtheskimish on West Canada Creek of 30 Oct 1781. It was in this action that Walter Butler, thenotorious Tory leader, was killed.13 |
